The newly appointed Sierra Leone Deputy High Commissioner to the Republic of Nigeria, Anna Moussa said her appointment by President Julius Maada Bio makes her believe that women have the ability and capacity to serve in all positions of trust.
She said her appointment is a clear manifestation of President Bio’s commitment to push the New Direction agenda to the right direction. She noted that women’s empowerment to contribute in national development has been the President’s priority.
According to her,for far too long women have been forced to be at the back seat and deprived to participate in state governance. She said the continued appointments of women to carry out national and international assignments show that President Bio is an action oriented President.
“Behind any successful man there is a strong woman,” Madam Anna said. She assured that with more women in front, Sierra Leone stands a huge chance to move from the shackle of poverty and compete with other countries within the sub-region.
She said, “My appointment will also allow us to make strong decision in governance that will bring development in the country. We will also promote the affairs of women who have been deprived and marginalized to compete with their male counterparts.”
The soft spoken Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria believes her appointment is reassuring and gives more hope to women. She therefore called on all women across the board to support President Bio and the New Direction.
She told Global Africa News that change is here and that change can be replicated in all sectors. She said she is coming to build the international reputation of the country and continue to lobby for more vulnerable women devoid of political affiliations and regional background.
She used the platform to thank President Bio for allowing her to serve her country. She vowed that she will adequately represent all Sierra Leoneans to lift up the country’s flag higher.
